The Urinary System

General Description

The series of organs in the urinary system function to produce, store, and eliminate soluble waste products from the body. The filtrates from the kidney are transported by the ureter to the bladder for storage, and are eliminated by way of the urethra. A major function of the system is to salvage water, sugars, and ions from the filtrate and return them to the blood. In addition, specialized structures within the kidney secrete the vasopressor renin, which increases systemic blood pressure.

  • I find it redundant and a bit awkward to use the word "The" in each subheading when the title uses it. Then again, the subheadings for the galleries have to be differently named or the TOC will only link the higher level subheadings. Another topic to be discussed in a meeting of the participants. There may be merit in developing a template to ensure a degree of consistency across topics. -- LorenEvey - 22 May 2007
  • It seems that you are pasting a manual TOC on each topic page. The built in navigation bar may be sufficient if the topic pages can be placed with their parent topics. Regardless, take a look at the "include" capabilities of TWiki. You can define your TOC on one page and then place the "include" variable to include the TOC (or any other repetitive content). There are variables that can extract between markers on a topic page for inclusion elsewhere. This is another issue for a participant discussion. I find that the manual TOC has merit, but that it is not worth the distraction. -- LorenEvey - 22 May 2007
  • I took the liberty to arrange the title and subheadings so that a TOC is generated. The TOC provides rapid navigation of the topic. Another issue to discuss amongst the participants is the topic "template." Obviously, I am partial to something along these lines. Subheadings can be omitted from the TOC by putting "!!" after the heading level. Notice that the indenting of the TOC depends on the leveling of the subheadings. Things are looking good. If you want to return to the previous version of this page you can view r3 in raw mode and paste in the contents. -- LorenEvey - 22 May 2007
